Tollbar BCF Books First Event
The only school in the area to gain a marriage licence will host its first reception this summer. As reported, Tollbar Business and Enterprise College has been granted permission to hold marriage ceremonies and celebrations.
And the first booking is in.
New Zealand couple Philip Howard Sheard and Lt Col Maree Snell married in February in their home town of Fielding, New Zealand.
But the pair will be celebrating in Philip's home village of New Waltham in July.
Philip met Maree, who is also the New Zealand military's director of nursing services, whilst working as a civilian for the New Zealand RAF.
The event, which also includes a blessing at Waltham's All Saint's Church, was organised by Philip's mum, Patricia Sheard.
Patricia (75) of Pretymen Crescent , said: "We had a good look around at all of the venues and we thought that Tollbar was the most suitable place."
So far, nobody has booked a full wedding at the school, but it is hoped an upcoming wedding fair at the end of the month could change that.
The school's business, conference and functions manager, Francis Sng said: "We have got a wedding open day on Sunday, March 30.
"I think around here it is the only unique place where you can get married and our professional outlook really appeals to people looking for professional staff, hence that is why people choose Tollbar."

The wedding open day will take place in the school's conference centre between 9am and 3pm.
